Welcome to the World of Kekonomics
Enter a world where memes are currency, humor drives markets, and chaos shapes value. Explore the absurdity, decode the language, and embrace the unpredictable. Welcome to the economy of the future. Where nothing makes sense, yet everything clicks.
THE JOKE IS THE INFRASTRUCTURE.
Kekonomics is a satirical economic model for the age of memes, platforms and permanent attention capture. It explores how humor, absurdity and internet culture are transformed into visibility, engagement and economic value.
Online, a joke is rarely just a joke. A meme, screenshot, phrase or deliberately stupid image can circulate through communities, gather meaning, provoke conflict, become merchandise, shape identity and feed the metrics of the platforms that host it. Kekonomics examines this conversion process: attention becomes data, data becomes capital, and capital returns as more content.
At the centre of this framework is Kek: a term rooted in online meme culture and popularized through spaces such as 4chan. Within Kekonomics, Kek functions as a symbol of ironic creation, collective digital behaviour and unstable cultural value. Memes and digital artifacts are treated as economic assets because they capture attention, mutate rapidly and generate meaning precisely through repetition, distortion and misuse.
Kekonomics exposes the tension between the chaotic energy of online humor and the structural forces of the digital attention economy. It asks what happens when absurdity is no longer outside capitalism, but one of its most efficient engines.
